Pho, fried udon, summer rolls, clay-pot tofu and homemade dumplings on Sonntagstraße, five minutes from Ostkreuz. Vegetarian and vegan all the way through, open every day until 23:00.

SORA has been cooking plant-based Vietnamese food on Sonntagstraße for years; the room was redone recently, with oak tables, sage walls and the yellow neon above the long bench. The menu stays what regulars come for: tofu and seitan doing the work of meat, herbs on everything, and a pho that people drive across town for.
Start with summer rolls or the house dumplings, go on to fried udon, a red-curry coconut noodle bowl or tofu braised in a clay pot, and finish with crispy banana in sticky rice. There is a bánh mì the owner invented, cocktails and beer, and a terrace when the sun is out.

"I was pleasantly surprised by how amazing the bánh mì was. The bread was super crispy and all the ingredients were fresh. The place has also been redecorated, which makes the atmosphere much more attractive."
